Challenges For an Expecting Mother

Childbirth is a blissful experience for mother and child;however, the reality can be quite different for millions of women who suffer from postpartum depression. Birth events are stressful for most women and can include a wide spectrum of consequences and obstetric interventions. After childbirth, women are vulnerable to postpartum psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, and attachment disorders. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study,It shows that about 1 in 10 women in the United States reported symptoms that suggest they experienced an episode of major depression in the last year.

CDC research shows about 1 in 8 women with a recent live birth experienced symptoms of postpartum depression.
